In-tank fuel pump 200 1991

Hi!

My 1991 240SE stationwagon would hesitate a bit suddenly and return to normal during a normal drive. It is getting worse lately. My mechanics said that is is the in-tank fuel pump. So I am planning to replace it and at the same time clean the gas tank. Could those with experience give so tips? Thanks!
