modifying anti-lockout driver's door 200

i'm trying to disable the driver's door anti-lockout "feature" (idiot proofing) on my '89 245. can anybody tell me what to look for to disable this? i have the door apart anyway (window regulator problem) and looking at the inside of the latch, but i don't see what's catching the lock knob.
