repairs on a 240 DL 200 1986

I just bought a 240 DL wagon,1986 ,in Dec. I had a "mechanic" check it out for me before I bought it(he obviously was lazy)He said all looked good. Just this week found 2,000 worth of repairs that needed to be done on it.I paid 1700.00 for it.I had 1630 worth of repairs done and the rest can wait.I took it to aPaul's Volvo in Richmond so I trust them implicitaley. I really like this car,it has 155,000 miles on it.Do you think it al has been worth it? The body is in great shape and now,everything looks like it is good. Vivian
