Rear Tail Lights Wont work when headlights are on.. but will when no head lights are on. 200 1987

Well, im having a prob. My rear taillights work fine when the car doesnt have the running lights or Head lights on.... But when i turn them on at night.. neither the right or left tiallights work... Any suggestions?
