Broken Speedometer Cable--Again 1800

A couple of years ago my speedometer cable broke. I figured it was old, so ordered a replacement. It broke about three days later. I crawled back under the car and saw that the transmission mount (automatic tranny) was shot. Replaced that and ordered another cable. Just got around to putting it in and it worked great for about 5 miles. Now it is broken as well. Any ideas of where the problem could be?
