aux electric fan rules... what are they? 700 1985

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the rules for aux electric fan activation on a 1985 745t?

I read a post recently indicating the aux electric fan comes on when the A/C is on, the temp is high (190-200f?), and the car is traveling less than 8mph. Is this true on all years or just more recent models? If just more recent models, what are the rules on a 1985 745t? Is it just triggered by temperature?

any help is greatly appreciated.
