I found a pulley for the alternator, and got the car running again.
I drove about 100 miles yesterday, and the engine suddenly stopped. Couldn't get it to start again. While waiting for AAA, I checked for spark and checked that there is fuel pressure at the rail. It kicks a little bit, but won't start up. Seems like fuel and spark are both happening.
Doesn't seem like a timing issue, unless one of the gears is completely loose or something.
My theory is that the sensors in the distributor that signal the injection on-time are not functioning properly. The kick I'm getting could be fuel from the acceleration enrichment (I can hear the injectors firing when I open the throttle). So, when I figure out how to get the car home, I'm throw an oscilloscope on one of the injectors to see if it's firing.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks again,
Eric
