90 740 AW 70 auto trans, dipstick tube to trans stripped!!!! Can I fix threads on pan? 700

Was doing a tranny service and all went well till I was loosening tranny dipstick tube where it connects to pan, I undid it a shavings came out - broke off some threads at end of tube coupler(can still screw in) and stripped threads to pan inlet! What a pain, never seen this before. Got some teflon tape and wrapped it up but when all back together, leaks from there! ARGHHHHH! Can I get an insert/helicoil? If so, how to fit it to coupler? New pan and tube asembly?? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Heinz
