A basic question: Any recommendations on windshield wipers? 700 1991

I know this isn't exactly a Volvo-related question, but I'm desperate to find a set of decent windshield wipers for my 740 - hopefully ones that will work well for at least six months. I've used Bosch and Trico, but they tend to skip, even when new. I'm sure my pitted windshield doesn't help matters, but there just has to be something better than what I'm using. I just wondered if any fellow bricksters have had better luck with other wiper brands. Thanks.
