Jumped in the car the other day and after starting the engine the car stalled out. Never happened before so I tried again while watching my tach. Again, engine started without a problem but then stalled out. The tach showed the engine, after initial start, revved itself up to about 1100 rpms for less than a second and then dropped down to 400 rpms. At 400 rpms the engine would then try to work itself up to 900 rpms (normal idle speed) but fail and stall out. Does not happen all the time. Usually after another attempt the engine would start up without incident; that is, would rev itself to around 1100 rpms then slip down to 900 rpms at idle.
Wondering if something is out of adjustment (this is a turbo BTW). Checked my connections at the distributor and spark plugs and all are intact. May have gotten a bad tank of gas the other day, some spitting and sputtering at highway speeds shortly after filling the tank (have had previous issues with this certain Mobil station). So I don't know . . . do you?
Thanks in advance,
