air mass meter 200 1984

My 1984 245 has been acting up lately and I think it might be my AMM. Sometimes on start up it idles rough and then it clears up, also sometimes it takes longer to start then usual, also sometimes it will idle erratic. Idle speed motor is good, spark plugs are good, wires, cap , rotor good. The amm is 4 years old and I bought it from a junkyard, can I test it?
