'84 245 unknown wires 200 1984

There are a couple of wires that are hanging down from under the car, from where looks like the gear shifter. They are bound together, one is black and the other is blue with a wide yellow stripe. What are these for? OD indicator on the gauge panel? If so, I dont care it they are hooked up or not. OR or they for the back-up lights? Because they dont work. It looks, from the way the wires are bent-a-bit, that the wires would connect to something that is forward of the transmission. Any clues? Thanks
