'96 960 pauses and jumps off the line 900 1996

Ive noticed lately that sometimes when im driving around and sit idle in drive for a period of time at a redlight or something that when I step on the gas again the car will pause and there is a delay before it will lurch and then accellerate normally. Does this sound firmilliar at all? I'm wondering if this is a serious issue or a small one...
