Have a small but VERY annoying problem with a 91 740 hood release. When I pull the hood release lever, only the right side "pops" loose. I often make 5-10 trips back and forth pushing it back down and trying again until the thing finally releases both sides or I've had to find someone (this is real handy, having a car that takes two to open the hood) to pull up on the hood while I pull the release. I'm at wits end with this thing. I've tried adjusting the spring tension til I'm blue in the face. I've spent considerable time cleaning the pin and release latch with degreaser to get all the dirt and old grease out and have regreased everything with new lube. No luck. It may work a time or two and go right back to sticking. Nothing really appears bent or out of line. I've toyed with the idea of trying to find a stiffer spring that may fit over the existing one. Any ideas appreciated!
