New Volvos Vs. 240

I have happily owned an 88' 240 DL for a number of years and have been very impressed with the longevity and durability of this car. I am considering purchasing a newer front wheel drive Volvo somewhere in the range of 1993-98. How do the engines in the front wheel drive cars compare with the B230F as far as duribility? How about the overal dependibilty, does it compare with the 240? Does anyone have any recommendations as far as a model or year to look at? I hope that I am not being repepetive, but I posted this message in the front wheel drive forum as well. Thanks in advance for your input and good suggestions as always.
