Turbo exhaust on a diesel? 200 1984

I'm looking to replace the exhaust on my '84 240 diesel and noticed that the replacement turbo exhaust single muffler setup looks like it would fit nicely( and cheaply).
A little better flow would do wonders for this thing , but the big question is ,would that single muffler setup turn this thing into a headache machine or is there not that much difference in sound output under normal ( civilized )driving conditions?
