My wife was driving the 240GL (1982 with CIS fuel injection) and she heard a swoosh/pop sound and the car died in the intersection. What a place for the car to die. Oh she was about 25 miles away from home when it occured too.

Got the car towed to a local mechanic who doe'nt know Volvo worht beans. I'll probably have a tow service bring the car home for me to work on.

I have kept very good care of this car with 220K miles on it. I replaced the in-tank fuel pump which was bad 6 months ago along with the timing belt. A year ago I replaced the in-line fuel pump which also died. I just changed the oil. I replaced the plugs/rotor/cap/wire two years ago too.

The car was running fine until this. So what could the problem be. I'm looking at the "Green Book" and thinking is it:
o Air Mass Meter?
o Fuel Injetcion Relay if it has one?
o Some other relay?
o A fuse?
o Skipped timing belt (naw)

I tested at the shop the following:
o fuel to the fuel filter is flowing.
o spark to the spark plug.

Did not test or could not verify when there:
o fuel to the injector
o timing belt alignment (which I think if good)

Have you had this problem before? Please inform me.
