P1800 build quality 1800

Would it be safe to agree with me and say that all P1800s (and Volvos in general) from the 1960s had much better build quality and reliability than any of their European brethren? For example, MGBs, Austin-Healeys, Saabs, Peugeots, Alfa Romeos, etc. None of the aforementioned makes were exactly Toyota- or Honda-like in reliability and durability at the time. I know '66 Volvos were much more reliable than '66 Saabs, though, as I see virtually none of the latter surviving today.
