1972, 164E, M410 (finally)
Just got everything put back together from the transmission swap! Prior to all of the work, this car had problems with fast idle. The idle adjustment knob had to be screwed all of the way in, for it to idle at 1200 rpm. So, I cleaned as much of the system as possible, and swapped an auxilary air valve that I am pretty certain was good. I used the Haynes manual to adjust the throttle control switch (I think), but the thing still idles way up there. I can "make" the idle go down by stopping the airflow on the hose that goes from the auxilary air valve to the air cleaner (wow is there a lot of vacuum through that one). At this point I am stumped. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kent
