What is a momentary shut off at high speed symptomatic of? 200 1989

A few days ago my car tried to stall out after starting it and putting it in reverse. Then about five minutes later while traveling at 60 mph it completely shut off for a moment (less than a second). A dash light came on right after that but I was too distracted to see which light it was, but as I recall it was an orange light left of the odometer push knob, which must have been the check engine light.

Anyone know what this ,might be symptomatic of?
