Just bought my first 700 - a 90 760 with 195K - Ive had only 240s until now, so there's a lot I don't know. Its in great shape with only a few non-mechanical quirks. For example, the radio cuts out bumps, no bumps, speed, other accessories don't seem to matter (faulty ground, power or internal problem?) as do the rear channel speakers. Question here is: what radios from newer models are easy (?) swaps, and is there a remote amp for this unit? I don't have a model number, but the casette player seems to be an add on unit. I've installed aftermarket units in other bricks, but would opt for a relatively easy swap in this one.
Second, the only feature they seemed to have missed is a remote locking system. It seems possible (unless I'm missing a basic concept) to put a receiver unit in the rear door, wired parallel to the switch operated by the manual locking button. Any thoughts about this? Thanks.
