Steering wheel swap?????? 200

I found a 1979 242GT in a yard today(off the beaten path) that has a great GT steering wheel and strut tower to firewall braces that I am going back for on Tuesday. My question is: will this wheel interchange with the one on my 242glt project car? Books say older 240 has a taper fit whereas newer 240 does not(1979 appears to be some kind of changeover date). Also, not clear if I will need a puller for this if I can make the swap. Any info appreciated.
