Oil Change at Home 700 1989

What does it take to change the oil on my '89 740 Turbo Wagon at home? Do I need a professional jack, a simple jack, or no jack at all? I'd think it would be a bit dangerous to slip underneath a jacked-up Volvo using a simple jack, no?

Could anyone who has done this him/herself before let me know what it took? Also, are there any good web sites with step-by-step instructions on performing an oil change?
