Hesitation while driving 700 1987

I think I finally found the cause of hesitation/ Bucking problem. FYI brickboarders. On Turbo Models check that the waste gate linkage is in place. I found out by accident while repairing an oil leak at the oil cooler flange "donut", that I could see the wastegate linkage off the wastegate pin. Therefore the waste gate was flapping back and forth aimlessly.

You look up at the turbo from underneath and make sure that the linkage is in place on the waste gate lever pin. If your clevis pin has rusted out, like mine did, the linkage will fall off the pin and not control the wastegate properly.

I read somewhere that there is a fuel cut-off to the fuel pump at overboost, to prevent engine damage and I believe this is what was happenning to my car. I should have noticed the bad acceleration also but I do not abuse this car because it is somewhat older.

Hopes this helps others.
