Don't we all...but seriously, I'm planning to take a 3000 mile trip from the bottom of Texas to Wyoming and beyond this summer. Problem is that when I did the timing belt,H2O pump, engine mounts, bushings, etc the car sat for a few days. At startup, there was a terrible clacking noise from the valvetrain. After a few minutes it calmed down, but is still there but muffled by oil. I plan to take off the head and have it gone over by a quality machine shop. Or is this overkill?
Should I just take off blithley trusting in the Volvo Gods to oversee us? I've done 400 mile trips since without any trouble.
TIA
and gracias,
el Raidman.
