non-stop beeping sound 700 1985

I am currently experiencing continuous beeping sound in my dashboard. I believe it is the beeper that warns if the driver-side is open when the engine is running. Anyways, it starts as soon as I insert the key into the starter and doesn't stop even when I start the engine and drive. Could the warning beep be for reasons other than the ones listed above? If not, I was thinking of tracing the beeper and unplugging the wires to it. BTW, where is it located?

I have gotten used to the beeping but it is getting to be distracting to my passengers and even drivers standing next to me when my windows are rolled down (which I have to do as it is hot these days).
