So being a fairly frequent reader/poster on the 'Board I see where certain topics (i.e. - how do I hook up a tach, how do I wire the aux ammeter, how do I clean the window switches, where is/how do I clean the flame trap, how do I wire the...) pop up every so often. I know that there is a FAQ site on this board but it doesn't contain all the specific 240 issues.
Some of the 'Boarders have some really good info/photos (Mr. Foster :), rhaire, Art B.), just to name a very, very few, that could/should be compiled in one place instead of just floating around out there in cyberspace. Some 'Boarders even have their own web sites where they have published/documented their "lessons learned" and better/easier ways to perform these maintenance tasks.
When you search the archives, you can see where many people have asked the same questions previously but not all the info gets carried through (specifically, my question about the cutting of the rear skirt for the trailer hitch generated quite an extensive line of posts last July, but the templates and instructions were never posted) so the cycle repeats itself. I don't like to be redundant and experience a certain amount of angst when I see some questions asked that are answered every couple of weeks and where the info is readily available in any of the published maint manuals for our beloved beasts.
So - what I'm getting at is - how do we compile this wealth of info out there? I know that this board has the lions share of it but there are some gaping holes. Not throwing stones - the witty banter on the 'Board is enough to read it on it's own merit.
Sorry to ramble - 4 cups of coffee this morning already... OBTW - how do I wire the flame trap - do I use the red and white wire behind the inst cluster?
