fill pipe leaking at fitting on auto xmission oil pan 91 240 200

need some advice.

changed xmission filter and gasket, third time sime owning car. Put pan back on and then tightened fill pipe fitting to pan. IT NOW LEAKS. Never did before. It was difficult to get it to fit. I loosened the two starter motor bolts that also serve as the bolts for the fill pipe bracket(s).

The next day I went back and put teflon tape on the threads, but still have leaking from the flare.

anyone have this problem and what did you do to fix it?
