Blower motor replacement 700 1989

The replacement blower motor from Volvo comes with a different connector from the one in my car, an '89 Turbo with the "improved" blower motor, evidently fitted at the factory. My question is whether to eliminate the inductor that is inline on the + side of the existing blower wiring when I change over the connectors for the new motor. There are no instructions in the kit, and the "upgrade" instructions for putting this blower motor into an earlier car (where you have to install the mounting plate, etc.) don't mention it either.

Thanks in advance.
