740 hard starting 700 1990

1990 740 B230F (non-turbo)- Normally starts with no problem,whether hot or cold.
But once in a while you crank and crank and it sputters and struggles to start, and occasionally wouldn't start at all. At which point you have to walk away and come back later. 140K miles.
