Changing to synthetic 900

Having read the many references to types of synthetic oils, I reckon I will go with the majority, and change, however to what viscosity. According to the Owners Manual for conditions as we are getting in Florida I understand 15W-40 is recommended. What is the opinion of the experts in Brickland? Please help an old f--t who is exceptionally non technical, but loves his '94 940 turbo!
