...that every car be as easy to work on as an old 240 volvo. I just re-and-re'd the front pads on my 200k '91 244. 11 year-old car, crap and corrosion caked on the calipers, but fittings cracked loose no problem, the four pistons backed into their bores no problem, cleaned up and lubed the guide pins no problem, used old shims and clips no problem, put it all back together no problem. Stops on a dime no problem. Easier and WAY BETTER front brakes that my '90 745 which has single-piston "GM-grade" girlings vs. the 240's quad-piston ATEs.
Warning - don't attempt this on any 11-year-old Honda/GM/Ford/Chrysler!
