Hi,

Yesterday, my '89 aut. 744 after trying to start a hot engine started noisy but later disappeared. Only on idle some scrapling sound from beneath was felt and heard. Today as i tried to start the car, it started out fine, but as soon as i tried to rev up, it stalled for three times. My guess is that yesterday it felt like the engine was suffocating and not getting enough air (no pedal response and engine didn't go past 2,000 rpm) and some electronics is cutting out today. Help needed.

p.s. what is this large container next to windshield washer reservoir, labelled 'fuel tank'? It is loose and not attached to the body. Some extra from P.O.?
