catalytic converter switch 200 1980

Since my 80DL won't pass smog and my 83DL(Both Non-Tubo)insn't running, is it possible to exchange the catyies? The 83 cat is brand new and the 80 probably has never been changed.Can the exhaust with the cat be removed easily? My plan is to not pay 170$ for a new one, if I can switch with my other volvos cat. I know where to get one for a bill but don't have a r.saw or welder. If removing the exhaust is easy let me know. Thanks for any response.
