I drive my 83 244T and eventually I smell fuel in the car. I replaced the fuel lines from the sending unit to the pump and other connector (can't remember the name) and it still smells. I don't see any leaks under the car or in the engine compartment, with the car running. Any suggestions? Can the dealer sniff this out?
By-the-way for those in the please don't try this arena. I removed my sending unit and part of the mechanism dropped into the tank. I had to drain and drop the tank to retrieve the parts and reconnect them. That was not fun. However, after about 20 years, my gas tank was in pretty good condition inside.
Also, does anyone know where I can find black OEM carpet to replace my front carpet in my car? The local wrecking yards can't help and the dealer charges a rediculous amount.
