About three months ago I noticed a problem with the cars performance on a long trip. The car would idle find, but once the turbo boost gauge rose to the center white line and above, the car would big time dog out.
I drive 35 miles to work each day. Once every two weeks I notice this happening. The car will excel fine as long as I stay out of the boost range. Please offer insight.
Note: It is my general understanding that the turbo either works or not. I know there are two control units on the turbo being the air sensor, and fuel/air bellows. Is it possible that one or both stick from time to time? I change the oil religiously every 3k. The car has 175,000 miles.
