New to the Volvo World...Suggestions Appreciated 200 1988

Hello this is my first post so I will introduce myself. My name is Josh White I live in terribly hot South Carolina and am the new owner of a 1988 245DL Wagon. As you can tell by my username I am a volunteer Emergency Medical Serviceman. So I will/do use the car for Code 3 response.
I really like the car but have a few kinks to work out:
1) When accelarating or cruising around 30-45 MPH the engine temporarily stalls and then comes right back to life.
2) The front right tire when going over any kind of bump lets out a terrible clunking sounds like it will just fly apart, I have noticed it is not as bad when I have pressure on the brake pedal.
3) The bulb out tell-tale is very annoying, for some reason the Rear Fog Lights would stay on without being activated by the dash switch so I changed them to the European equivalent of the tail lights now when the parking or headlights are on so is that tell-tale. It came on intermittenly before because even after changing the bulb the third brake light does not work as well as the license plate lights.
4) The temp gauge was acting horrendous up and down and redhot when first cranking, told by import mechanic probably Temperature Compensator Board, I changed the thermostat 13.00 no problem.
5) And of course I would buy a car with A/C not working.
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated, and referrals of companies like IPD for parts and accessories. Thank-you.
