Timing Belt Replacement, '89 760T, B230FT 700 1989

Dear Brickboard experts:
I have successfully changed the timing belt. By the way, the crank pulley bolt was a bitxx. Had to use the 3' cheater pipe jambing the flywheel in place against the flywheel housing to break the bolt loose. I changed the belt out per the book, e.g. lining up the crank pully on 0 degrees, camshaft pully at about 20 to 30 degrees CCW from 0 degrees to match the mark on the inside cover, and the other pully to about 110-120 degrees CW. My real question is that when I pulled the #1 plug and with a screw driver felt the topping of the piston, the crack pully was not at 0 degrees. It appears that the top of the piston movement was about 30 degrees before the pully mark makes it's way around to 0. Pulled the valve cover, and checkedcam position. Cams for #1 were about symetrical(10 o'clock and 2 o'clock) and the mark on the camshaft pully was indeed lined up the the mark on the inside cover. When I took off the dist. cap, the rotor checked out as close to the #1Cyl contact post. I can't understand why the crank pulley doesn't line up with the #1 piston TDC. There is only one way to install the pully, since it has a key slot. Has anyone else experienced this?? Where did I goof?. Is there something else I should check?
