What is the purpose of additional hot lead which goes away from aux ac fan motor 700 1987

Hello everyone.

Our 87 740 did not actually have an aux ac fan motor to cool the ac condenser. However, since the ac was converted to 134a we added a junkyard fan motor. The wiring was already factory installed. There is a power or hot lead which goes to the radiator temp sensing plug and the lead exiting the plug goes toward the fan motor. Before the lead reaches the motor the wire splits and goes somewhere else also. thru the bumper and back to a wire loom on the other side of the car. Please tell me if this additional wire is powering something else or monitoring power to the fan motor. I thought it might be monitoring car speed thru the electronic speedometer however I have a toggle switch in the car which I have spliced in to the fan circuit which gets warm when it is turned on. The switch stays warm even at 60 mph so I believe that fan is not turning off at high speeds. So I don't think it is suppose to turn the fan off or the system is not working to turn the fan off at high speeds. Thanks in advance
