Regina->LH conversion... Fuel pump questions 700 1990

Hello all... I am performing an engine swap pretty soon (going from a Regina NA B230 to a Bosch LH B230FT), and there are some noted differences in the fuel delivery systems. Mainly:

1 - Regina system only has the single in tank pump
2 - Bosch system has two pumps, one in tank and one main pump under car

I am of course going to have to replace (ok, actually just "add") the main pump which goes alongside the fuel filter unit under the chasis, but I don't know if the in-tank which is already on the car will work as is, of if I really need to change it as well? Will the Regina in tank operate properly (or at least like the Bosch) via the electrical signals from the Bosch LH delivery system?

Another big question is with adding the main pump, we have an older spare laying around, and it will work to get moving at least, but any real preference on new pumps with good delivery? I saw MVP' pump with increased PSI...is it worth it?

Thanks!
