K-Jet How to remove fuel line from injector? 200

1981 242 Turbo B21FT
I've been chasing a rough (loping) idle and warm start problem so decided to pull the injectors and test the spray patterns and delivery volume as per the Bentley manual (Section 240). So far Cyl 3 & 4 injectors have a pretty dirty pattern, need to be cleaned/replaced. All four have a good amount of carbon build-up on the upper injector shaft (but not the tip). Volume test shows No 1 higher than the rest, No 3 a little lower. I want to swap those two injectors and see if the flow changes to see if jectors are the problem or something else.

But how do I remove the line from the injector? That long 14mm nut on the top of the injector must come off, but when I try to pull it off with the injector in the head it just tries to twist the metal fuel line (I assume the injector is just spinning). Shold I remove the injector from the head, clamp it in a vise, and then try to get that line off? I'm afraid of completely trashing the injector that way. Is there something I'm missing here? Bently says step one is "disconnect the fuel lines from the injectors" but it doesn't seem that simple once you try...

Also, when I run the pumps but before I lift the air sensor plate, just when I turn the pumps on I get a spurt of fuel from an injector or two, then that's it, no dripping after that. Is that allowable?

Thanks so much. And I did check the archives. Thought this would be a common question.
