Bricksters:
My wife, daughter and I are planning a 4000 mile trip from Texas up to Wyoming and back in August. I have done the following to my " La Carrosa" 93 245 with 140K miles:
1. Engine= complete head job including replacing 3 exhaust valves,re-planing the head itself, new gaskets, new thermostat, new injector seals, new flame trap, IPD rear seal retainer, new coolant hoses, new fan clutch, new water pump, new timing belt, new TB pulley, new harmonic balancer, replaced all 3 front seals, new motor mounts, new suspension bushings for AC compressor, power steering and alternator, all new drive belts. Checked Alt bushings= OK.
2. Suspension & steering= new KYB front & rear shocks, new bushings front & rear including the red poly track rod bushings, new ball joints, outer tie rod ends.
New front wheel bearings. Will replace inner tie rods and boots (CAM gear) next week. Will have wheel alignment done afterward.
3. Brakes= new cross drilled front rotors with Mintex pads, rear PBR pads, original rear rotors, new stainless steel brake lines, new DOT 4 fluid
4.A/C system= new high pressure hose, new receiver drier & orifice tube, charged up with R134 & correct PAG oil.
5.Tranny= new filter screen and new fluid.
6. Just before leaving= new fuel filter, new air filter, new oil filter, new 10-40 oil.
I have the 3 U-joints and a new center bearing, but this may be overkill. I'll just take them along for a "just in case".
What say you? Did I miss anything big that will impede the trip? Beside the "adventure" of meeting tow truck drivers and new mechanic friends I did not know I had?
Thanks for the imput.
