Looking at a nice silver '92 944 GL with 94K miles. Cosmetically, the car is in very good shape. Black leather interior looks almost new, paint is good but is faded on the roof. Dealer maintained, and has already had the following done: front bushings (not clear if strut rod or control arm), motor mounts & tranny mount, waterpump and wiper motor. Nothing major or unexpected for a 10 year old brick. Guy says that the front rotors might have been replaced as well, but didn't have the service receipt.
It drives well. Much quieter than my 240s, but to my dismay the ride is about the same (though admittedly a little better as my 245 has a 121K mile disadvantage here).
My question is basically the subject of the message...how reliable are the 940s, and what repairs do they generally require, compared to the 240?
Would this car have the Rex Regina system, or Bosch LH 2.4? If the latter, should I plan for a new air mass meter?
Good deal for $5k?
Thanks.
