My non-turbo with 167k miles just stalled out in the left turn lane. I had to get a ride back to work. I am lost without my car.
My first reaction was a fuel problem.....fuel pump relay or anything else I could check. But, I decided the logical course would be to eliminate electrical first. Bingo. No spark on plug one.
I decided to check plug two and managed to bust off the blue OEM plug wire end. So now I need plug wires.
I need help diagnosing this problem. The coil unit is square....so I assume I have a Regina fuel and ignition system. I called Nick at Groton for wires but didn't order any yet because I don't know what else I will need.
The car turns over strong....yet it does not catch. Today in Michigan it is 95 degrees...first hot and humid day of the year. Recently the RPM's began fluttering at idle and I was getting psyched up to clean the throttle body. Any chance the idle was is connected to this problem? Nick says they replace a lot of coil modules and they cost about $200.00.
I could really use some help.
