Susan called while we were OTL today. Her car is parked on Minnesota
street and she had to walk to work from there this noon. Since I was
taking my generator nearby to be tested I didn't call her but went to
see her instead. BTW the generator works fine.
She said that as she was driving the gas pedal suddenly became of no effect.
She turned in and stopped in the parking lot of an abandoned bldg about
1000 ft from where she works so it wasn't a big problem. She said the engine
was still idling when she stopped. Trying to move the car a bit she killed
it and it would not start. She customarily gives it a little gas to start,
and of course couldn't this time.
On the way home I stopped and took a look at it. The throttle cable works,
and the linkage that goes down from the cable drum seems to be working OK
also. I haven't checked the manual yet but figured I would post this as
soon as possible.
Anybody had this problem? Is it an easy fix? Any good advice will be
most gratefully appreciated.
