740 GL - SRS Light came on after replacing factory radio

Hello all,

I recently replaced the factory radio in my 1990 740GL. I had to remove the SRS knee bolster below the driving column in order to reach the factory amp. Now that I have everything working and back together my SRS light on the dash came on immediately and stays on since the radio install.

Any Ideas what's wrong?

Does the SRS system check the knee bolster?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
