aluminium rims leak like madmen 200 1983

i got a set of aluminium rims with the 200 dollar volvo that i bought yesterday, so i tossed them on lastnight. when i went out today the front 2 were flat, and the rear tires had lost about half their air pressure. i dont know tires, so what would be the best way to remedy this? could i just spray some fix-a-flat in them to seal it up, or do i have to have them reset on the rims?
