As I posted recently, I am experiencing loss of power during acceleration. Usually it occurs when I press the accelator after already reaching 1500rpm. When I press the accelerator, it feels like absolutely no change is occuring, just maintaining current speed. However, if press it even further, suddenly the engine "wakes up" with a blast of power. This only happens some of the time. Also, I seem to notice this more often when coming around an off ramp or on slow sharp turns where I need to accelerate out of. Idling is just fine. I guess it is safe to say this is a fuel issue, be it the pump, filter or relay, etc. Also the Check Engine light is on. I'm just waiting for my OBD-2 tool to arrive in the mail. In the meantime, I continue driving daily to and from work. What I need to know, is it accurate to assume this is a fuel line issue and if so, what is a safe way to release the pressure and open the fuel lines so I can replace what I need to replace? I may have to jump the gun and do some work as I'm STILL waiting for my OBD-2 tool, fearing my car will breakdown soon. I appreciate the help!
