88 245 DL speedometer (electric) sometimes will not work. Seems to be related to when car has baked awhle in the sun. Once rolling and cooled down a little, speedo will start working after a few miles. Always works in the morning or when cool.

I replaced the speedo a while back; in doing so I did not replace the white plastic retainer that clips over the wiring connector at the back of the speedo. Suspect that retainer is what I need to ensure a good connection when the heat is expanding the wire connector enough to break contact.

Don't know what else it would be... Anyway, dealer says I need the part number of that white gizmo before he can get it; he says his schematics dont show it.

Anyone know what the p/n would be? I believe it is molded into the part.
