83 speedo cable 200 1983

Dear bricksters,
I recently bought a 82 244 for my 16 year old brother. She has some rust on her but the engine is good. Only problem is speedometer cable is snapped, (I pulled it out, the car is a standard as well) I was on IPD and they had 240, 260 1975-79 spdo cable: 4 spd w/OD M46 ......only to 1979, question, can I use this one, they have no others for the year I need.
